100 Years of the RCAF

It’s a milestone year for the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) and all those who have contributed to its success. April 1, 2024, marks one hundred years of aviation excellence, innovation and sacrifice. At the forefront of this momentous occasion are military families – the continued support ‘beyond the wings.’ The Trenton Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) invites the community to celebrate its 17th annual Invisible Ribbon Gala: Beyond the Wings on Saturday, May 11, 2024. Tickets are now on sale.

This year, we welcome ‘the Honorary Five’ among our ranks. Among this group are 8 Wing Trenton’s current Honorary Colonels: Julie Lange, Mark Phillips, Lorraine O’Quinn, Aleesha Camp and Chandy (Chandra) Davis. All five members are respected leaders, entrepreneurs and philanthropists within the community. It is their shared experiences and expertise that make them the perfect fit for the job.

Our Focus
Our Focus

Our mission to connect and empower our military community is at the centre of all that we do.

As for our campaign goal, we will be raising funds for the unique challenges that we often refer to as ‘the unexpected’. This has previously included funding for: emergency housing for families in distress, mental health supports, respite care for children with exceptionalities, virtual access to medical practitioners and other emergent situations. In order to accomplish these goals, the Trenton MFRC must fundraise as we continue to strive for long-term, sustainable and responsive solutions to meet the needs of our community. We could not do this without your support and we look forward to showing our military families that the Bay of Quinte region is more than just Canada’s home of air mobility – it’s also the place we call home.
