Trenton’s Military Family Resource Centre could be coming to Belleville.
Executive director Tamara Kleinschmidt told city councillors the organization is hoping to open a satellite location in the city. The centre serves military families – considered to be all armed forces personnel, regular and reserve, plus their parents, spouses, children and other significant relatives. She said more than 80 per cent of the province’s 19,000 military families live in civilian communities.
“We need to start reaching families where they are. They are not all condensed in a base environment any more.”
