Pathways to Independence requires Casual Support Workers who will work as members of the residential support team to enhance the social, leisure and daily living activities of clients with a developmental disability, acquired brain injury or complex needs.

The Support Worker supports adults with homemaking, personal care, community and personal development skills in accordance with the person’s Quality of Life Plan.  The Support Worker ensures that the person’s services and supports promote their rights, choices, self-determination, independence and builds personal and community living skills.

The successful candidate must have:
• Secondary School Graduation and a minimum one year post-secondary certificate in Human or Health Sciences (Personal Support Worker or equivalent).  Proof of education is a condition of employment.
• Continuing education in development disabilities/acquired brain injuries an asset
• Completion of an approved pharmacology course an asset
• Current First Aid and CPR
• Crisis Prevention Intervention certification preferred
• Valid G class driver’s licence

Must be available to work a minimum of 3 shifts per pay period.  Shifts are from 4-12 hours and include days, evenings, weekends, nights and holidays.

Experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities or acquired brain injuries in a residential, community or independent living environment is preferred.
