The Education Information on Posting Service (EIPS) is designed to assist parents of school-age children by providing comprehensive and current information regarding the educational programs, resources and facilities available to them in their new location. The EIPS is also designed to provide referral and assistance to CF families whose children have special educational needs. The Education includes the minimum standards of education information to be provided by all MFRCs.
*The next session for French and English classes begin January 14 & 15, 2019 - depending on the module. Registration closes on January 3, 2019.
Courses for military spouses/partners and their immediate family (minimum age 16 years) are offered at the Trenton MFRC for beginner and intermediate levels.
Classes run for 10 weeks beginning in September, January and April. Each session offers a total of 60 hours of instruction. Classes are held twice a week, either mornings or evenings depending on the level.
The cost for a military spouse is a $50 deposit (required upon registration for the course). This deposit is refundable if the participant attends 85% of classes. A $15 textbook is required and available at the first class.
Courses are also open to military members for a non-refundable cost of $75 and to civilian members of the community at a non-refundable cost of $125 per session. A $15 textbook is required for military members and civilian students. Priority will be given to spouses of military members (A minimum of five military spouse participants, with a maximum of 12 students, is required per course).
The Second Language Training is a national program and courses can be continued at most CAF Bases across Canada.

Rosetta Stone is an informal self-directed on-line language training program. This program is limited (5 online licences) and available on request for military spouses/partners only.

Do you want to improve your French speaking skills? Come and join our French Conversation Club where a bilingual instructor will be on hand each week to help keep the conversation flowing and organize games! All levels are welcome but keep in mind that the target language will be used all the time by the instructor. Open to everyone (16+) - military members, military spouses and civilians. The target language will be used all the time by the instructor.
Cost: $35 for 8 weeks (Minimum of five people is required to run this club.) The club will start on January 22, 2019. Registration deadline is January 3, 2019.
