Our prenatal workshop is hosted for couples who are trying to conceive or are currently expecting. This comprehensive course covers a wide range of topics from pregnancy, labour and newborn care. Participants will receive their own information manual as well as an opportunity to learn hands on practice with a partner.
Class 1: Changes, nutrition, exercise in pregnancy, screening & fetal well-being tests, pregnancy related conditions and signs for concern in late pregnancy.
Class 2: What is labour, including the stages, hormones, induction, monitoring and assisted delivery.
Class 3: Optimal fetal position, coping with labour including pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical pain & comfort measures, as well as what not to do during labour.
Class 4: Topics include baby’s arrival, skin to skin, umbilical cord, meconium and diapering, erythromycin, circumcision, advocating for yourself and more!
Class 5: Newborn feeding and care (breastfeeding and formula feeding), postpartum care and recovery, post-partum depression and the role of the father.
